Gloria Ann Spindler (Larson), 70, passed away on Monday, November 21, 2016 peacefully in her sleep with family and friends around her, after a battle with cancer.

Gloria lived a very happy life and loved to visit family often. She stayed close to her family until her death.

With her husband and longtime friend, Robert "Butch", she shared the faith of God and was heavily involved with her church.
They also loved the outdoors and went camping often. Her favorite place was the Northshore of Lake Superior. She often brought that love home with her, caring for flowers and feeding the wildlife right outside her window.

Gloria was born in Duluth, MN on October 22, 1946. She attended Hermantown High School and lived on a farm, so she was not immune to hard work. She grew up with three siblings, Barb, Pat and Rick, who tell stories of her strong work ethic tending to daily life on the farm.

While living in Hermantown, she met Jerome Larson, her first husband. Together they raised three children. Because of her hard work ethic and love for her children, she shared her passions with them as they grew to be competent, professional adults. Wanda shares her love and caring for others working with disabled adults for the past 26 years. Jerry took her strong work ethic and retired from the Army, and Scott has her passion for the outdoors working the last 17 years for the National Park Service.

Gloria was loved by everyone and will sorely be missed. Gloria is preceded in death by her parents; William and Edith Newman
.
Gloria is survived by her husband; Robert Spindler; children; Wanda Larson, Jerry Larson (Dee) and Scott Larson (Martha), grandchildren; Logan Larson, Chase Larson, Chance Larson and Alexandra Larson, siblings; Barbara Kimber (Steve), Pat Thompson (Ron), and Rick Newman (Dallas).

Visitation: 10:30 a.m. until the 11 a.m. Memorial Service, Monday, November 28, 2016 in the Family of God Lutheran Church, 4097 Martin Road, Duluth, MN 55803.
